Getting Around DC
UBER
If you have a smartphone, the best way to get around DC (and the recommended mode of transport to the wedding reception) is Uber. Uber is an on-demand taxi service that uses a smartphone app.

METRO
DC's public transportation system! We love it and love to hate it all at the same time. Metro is an inexpensive way to get around town, and it reaches most attractions you will likely plan to see. A metro map can be found here
A few things to know:
-
If you use a paper farecard, metro will charge you $1 extra per trip. You can purchase a re-loadable Smartrip card to avoid this extra charge if you think you will be riding the metro a ton or plan on coming back to DC.
-
Trains run much less frequently on weekends, so leave plenty of extra time for weekend metro travel.
